Failed Scientific Clocks

Scientists made a number attempts to date the earth and its features that ultimately failed to satisfy one or more of the requirements of a natural clock. This group of papers describes some of these attempts and explains why they were eventually discarded. Interestingly, some of these methods are still cited by some young-earth creationists as though they have validity. Some of them actually do serve as crude clocks, but they lack the precision necessary to make reasonable age estimates. Others are so flawed that they do not serve as clocks at all.
