Anna Hyronimus
from Brandon, S.D. has been
awarded a Fulbright grant for 2014. Hyronimus is one of 13
students to receive a Binational Business Internship, in which she
will be attending a 10-month program studying in Mexico.
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for
individually designed study/research projects or for English
teaching assistant programs. During their grants, Fulbright
students meet, work, live and learn from the people of the
host country, sharing everyday experiences. Hyronimus will
participate in the program September 2014 through May 2015.
“This will allow me to work as an intern with a multinational
corporation full-time while taking M.B.A. graduate courses all
fully funded by the Fulbright Program (Department of State),”
said Hyronimus.
As a USD student, Hyronimus has served as CEO of Kappa
Alpha Theta sorority; is a member of the Order of Omega,
a honor society for members of Greek organizations; spent a
semester studying abroad in Granada, Spain; spent three weeks
with the Alternative Week of Off-Campus Learning program
during a winter break trip to Ecuador; is a Rawlins Scholar; a
Presidential-Alumni Scholar; participated in track and field from
2010–2012 while also serving on the USD Athletic Board
of Control in 2013; and was named Miss Dakota 2013.
“After this experience, I hope to have my M.B.A., be fluent
in Spanish, and have a greater understanding of the relations
between the United States and Mexico,” she added. “I am
hoping this experience will further shape what I aspire to do
in the future.”
